Default a slideshow of my pics :)

I have a long-time friend who is opening a yarn/knitting shop with some friends and family. I offered to help them out with some pictures for facebook if they wanted, and they took me up on it. They ended up making a slideshow for the website.

The soft opening is tomorrow, grand opening is in December. I will go back and take pull-back shots of the rooms before December but the place was in a huge mess with products piled everywhere being organized, priced, arranged, etc. that I was very limited to the type of shots in the slideshow - closeups or tightly framed shots. But we think they work, and I had a great time doing it.

Thanks for looking!

Very nice. I am alway amazed at the range of colors that yarns are available in. Good luck to your friends on their new venture. Tell them to make sure they have a good business advisor.

I think it's supposed to look a bit girly, Mr. P.

Fabulous shots Sis. They definitely have a warm and inviting feel to them.

I noticed a majority of them were in portrait orientation. Personally I feel that the landscape images filled the space on the site much better. It gave me an up close and personal feel that really drew me in.

Just something to consider for the long run.

Very good point, Duck, thanks. I sent them about twice as many pics as they put in the slideshow, so I know they have more in landscape orientation than they chose but I no doubt did shoot more portrait orientation. I'll keep your suggestion in mind for next time.

Really nicely done, Sis! The close-ups often say so much more by showing less and are very effective in setting a distinctive feel for the shopping experience at this store. This approach is much more attractive than shooting wide shots of a packed and busy store. When you show everything in one shot nothing really stands out.

Great commercial shoot!

I do agree that horizontal shots are more commonly used for websites, probably because the computer screen is a horizontal space.

You did a masterful job showcasing your friend's product.

Because I don't knit, I don't know what I would do with a skein of yarn, but now I want to go to her shop. Worked on me!

Thanks so much! I was excited to read your comments because that's definitely what they want, is for you to want to come to the shop! lol
