It is not what you say, but how you say it. If you approach it the way you have done it here, then I agree with you.

Nice Job!! The last one that you posted is GREAT! She dosn't look "fake", but you fixed her up really nicely.
I'm with you on the retouching of wedding images. I am also 99% Lightroom. I tried something on a senior shoot a couple months ago. After editing all the photos in LR, I picked my fav's and edited them a little more using PS. I gave her some smoothing and a little nip and tuck. Not much, just a little. Guess which pictures she bought the most of? Yep, and I didn't tell her anything about what I had done. She just knew that she looked great in those photos. Thanks....Chris
Edit, I forgot to add: I am now going to do the same with wedding images. I'll pick out some of my fav's and play with them for a while. I bet the client notices, in a good way!

The touchup looks good. However, and you asked, If you move the light a little more to the front of the face the nose wouldn't case a shadow over her mouth and the "imperfections" wouldn't be so pronounce to begin with. maybe you wouldn't need to touchup.
I'm not being critical. Only suggesting another way.

Adam.

Yes I really should have noticed that it was producing rembrandt lighting instead of a gentle loop lighting; the result made her creases look much deeper and wasn't good for her overall appearance, so I tried to reduce its effects. I would have preferred loop or completely side lighting. I just didn't really think about it when I was taking the photos.

Thanks! I'm hoping the bride will like it. I won't be showing her the original.

So what happened when you showed them to the bride?

I sent them just last Tuesday or Wednesday I believe, and she should have received the disc today or yesterday. I may never know what she thinks about that particular photo because I don't plan on mentioning it.

Yeah, I was unclear. Not how did she like the one you changed, but overall?
