This is the shot that Mark McCall taught me. He uses a Metz flash, I just couldn't get the Metz to work. I have seen him work with that Metz, and it is nothing short of spectacular. I use an Alien Bee 800, a Vagabond (portable power) and a Softlighter Umbrella. Position to camera right just out of frame. Shoot at 5.6 and drag the shutter to let in the ambient. Tripod shot...of course.

I am traveling to Wisconsin for a wedding this weekend. The bride wanted a snow wedding...so we'll see what we get!

I am challenging myself. I want to do some cool stuff, so who knows what I might come back with.
