Default Farewell...

..........mighty Vulcan.

XH558 on its farewell circuit of Southern England earlier this afternoon. Taken from the wilds of Salisbury Plain - his (or my !) navigation was spot on........... right over my head.

Nikon D7100 + Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 AF APO DG OS HSM (at 190mm)

Awesome view and shot. Right place, right time to catch this magnificent bird as it is whisked away into the history section. Sad place for a lot of these old pieces to go...

Absolutely bang on. A memorable shot of a memorable aircraft. Pity you could not embed the sound as well!

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it is like a disease.

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Gear: Canon G12, no tripod, no lenses, no flash, no remote, no cases or bags!

Great capture I have been lucky enough to see this every year doing a display at GFOS for the last few yrs, Certainly a sight to be seen and the sound is amazing.

I heard it coming before it appeared over the hillside...............

The Vulcan had a wonderful " howl" from its engines - once heard, never forgotten.
