Default Suggestion

How about a challenge thread (I'm thinking of people/portrait forum especially) but it could be any forum, where a specific technique is the "Challenge" instead of "topic" or"heading".

For instance :

4 light set up
Head shot
Window light portrait
etc etc.

Then critique and suggestions can be better directed and "focused" for that particular image more from a technique standpoint and not so much from a topic such as "Red".

Just a thought, if it hasn't been suggested or thought of before.

Sounds interesting. Don't know that I would do it but it sounds interesting and easier to judge based on the requirements.

4 or 14? What is the difference?

Sounds okay, but your example is going to limit it to about 5 people. How many here have 4 light setups? Raise your hands? See........?

I think it would be better to visit the simple but important fundamental portrait things like "Rembrandt lighting" or "Eyeglass wearer", etc....

Right even better, I just threw examples out as just that. but you are right,
I picked a bad one. But I think this would make us better photographers. and also give a chance for more directed critique and evaluation.
Currently, I'm trying to perfect my 9 light set up since I've got up to 8 lights pretty much down pat

Sheesh, eight lights is easy. Shooting in my kitchen I have 6 cans overhead in the ceiling and two big windows. That's eight right there, right?
