I believe anyone can rate a thread. Look over in the upper right hand corner of any post and you'll see a "Rate Thread" drop down menu with the rating options on it. Just pucker up and click...

Thanks Lee.
I asked because some of my threads were rated ( not by myself) and was just wondering why and what kind of protocol existed( I thought it was due to number of views for example).

Completely voluntary and you can do it as described above.

I wish there were no "negative" options in the list. I also wish that more would actually rate a thread if it was pretty good or outstanding.

For some reason that little thing is a neat utility and I can never remember that it's there. I rarely rate threads but it's simply because I forget it exists.

Internal memo: Form new habits...

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the threads, but can someone please tell me what the green squares under our avatars indicate? Thanks.

Karma "power". A combination of the number of posts plus the Karma score of a user. The bigger the bar, the more Karma points the user can hand out...or take away.

I like the negative option to counteract the idiots that continually rate their own threads with Excellent.
