we did, it is called 'other DSLR cameras and lenses'

Maybe you could start a poll so we can see some numbers & opinions ?

Do we need a dedicated Sony/Konica-Minolta DSLR and lenses board ?

I'm a KM 7d guy at the moment and will probably go A700 soon. I'm not sure I understand the usefulness of a brand-specific board but then I've never looked through one. Maybe I'll go look at the Sony board on DPR and see if there's anything to be gained by it...

I think we'd all love to have brand-specific boards for everyone but in the end we have to look at activity and whether it'll be sustainable. We're a lot less brand orientated at the camel than many other forums (which is a good thing) so I doubt if we'll get to that point. As Lee says if you're mainly interested in hardware discussions then DPR is unbeatable. If you're mainly interested in photography and enjoying the art and craft as well as the odd brand specific discussions then I suggest that the camel will offer you more.

I am also a KM 7d user and find it refreshing that at the pC we don't hardly ever ask what equipement any one uses just concentrate on the image.

However the argument could be made that if it's all about the image (which I personaly believe) that "then why are there specific forums for Nikon, Canon fuji etc? Just making a point. It is impossible to please everyone and I am ok with it being as it is, but I understand the question.

DPR should be renamed as DCR as I found in their rules the other day that unless related to a specific equipement issue all photo's should go in a sample or gallery section. Wouldn't want to get banned for publishing an image would one?

I just saw cannon, nikkon forums, ect.
Sony is hitting the market hard. So being curious if others had sony and how they liked the camera would be benificial. Also techniques, use, equipment ect. Either way I love this place no matter what.
