The 1st image is a cool crazy informal "still life" of these two
household objects. The lighting mostly comes from a source
thaz inside the frame, rather than some invisible off-camera
source that pretends to be natural light. And one of these
household items tells us the time, but we don't know if night
or day or even if that info is intended for us to notice or not.
Maybe it's Dali's kitchen.

The 2nd image is equally surreal but in a very different way.
Something is about to happen, in a very pedestrian, domestic
setting, but it's not your routine domestic activity for sure. If
weird stuff happens in a weird or abstract setting, "Oh thaz
just art being art". But if it happens in a familiar setting such
as shown here, it's unsettling, holds our attention, challenges
a viewer's comfort zone.

The 3rd and 4th don't set me to wondering much. It is so far
removed from daily life, "high art", documentary imaging, or
any other context in which we usually view imagery. It's just
a kitchen appliance in need of an exhorsism or something. So
I don't stretch my imagination to envelop what I see. I'll just
accept that some appliance is having a freak-out episode and
thaz the whole self contained message or story.

The 1st and 2nd images I could hang poster sized on the wall,
each holding its own and worthy of repeated curious viewing.

The other two have some crazy eye-grabber appeal, but do
not sustain my gaze all that long. I appreciate how they serve
within a larger narrative series, but I wouldn't hang up poster
sized versions to stand, long-term, each on its own.

That 1st image I'd be tempted to enhance somewhat in the
"eye candy" sense, especially for a poster sized version. I'm
kinda uncomfortable "confessing" that, but confession is said
to refresh the soul, so I'm hanging my dirty laundry in public.

The video is like one of the mystery frames come to life.
But in coming to life, the surrealism drains away. It's still
a mystery of sorts, but not so engaging as the frozen time
in the stills. Thaz just me and my affinity for the surreal.
If anyone else sees a whole nother something, I'd be way
happy to hear from them.

ATM it seems we've plowed ahead into the function and
activity of the "seeing pictures" idea before gathering an
active group to contrast or experience the "seeing" thru
many eyes and minds. It's the chicken and egg puzzle. It's
not spozed to be only just what Golem thinks he sees.

Would this fit the theme?

If the theme is photos for an insurance claim,
then maybe it fits ?

Fill me in. Honest, I didn't know we/I/you had
a theme going. I've mentioned that your stuff
appears to be a series, or narrative, and that
it is a mystery. So if the theme is a mystery to
me as viewer, why ask me if a frame fits into
the theme ?

I really gotta recruit ... no WE [whoever's here,
lurkers etc] all gotta recruit, more eyeballs and
voices to this zone, either to help unpack some
mysteries or to further complicate them. Either
way, to shed more light ... and darkness :-0

Amazing really. But 'cool' seems to me an odd
descriptor for Desmond's quite explosive style.
