Default Local Barrel Racer

There were more dramatic shots of others but not nearly as dramatic as Fatoldbaldguy's work!

This is not a pro rider just a local lady enjoying the afternoon. I liked the confidence she showed in the saddle and the timing of the shot seemed about right.

I love the intensity and the assumed motion this photo provides. The horse has crazy focus.

I think that I would like to see a little more to the right of the photo allowing the horse and rider room to move into the frame, but then again maybe not.

Good action shot, but agree with the above that there needed to be a bit more on the right side for the horse to go to, and for her eyes to move to next. But the barrel is white so it might distract, so you might end up with the whole barrel and a bit or the earth around it. The horse is looking, with a wild eye, so that is good, and her hair flipped up adds motion..

Beautiful shot. I think the second crop is an improvement. Your timing is spot on. The horse seems to know what it's doing. It's reacting well with relatively light handed direction. Nice work on all three parts.

Yes, the redo seems better to me. Sometimes a tight crop tells more of a story, sometimes a wide one does.

Yes! The second one is the winner in my eye. Thank you for posting the revision.
