I've been very happy with AdoramaPix.

No Costco near by..

I played with Adorama and the interface is nice, price is good... good reviews all over, worth a try. Next to try would be mpix.

The prints I got from Walmart made me simply sick to my stomach. Color was so off it was upsetting. On a good note, it was a test print.

Thanks for the advice! This really helped to narrow it down.

Make sure that if YOU think your colors are what you want, that you tell them (some buried interface option sometimes) to NOT color correct.

Also, check each place to see if they have a printer profile (ICC or something) that you can use to get a glimpse of what they think the printer will display your image as, so you can see color shifts.

Just ordered some 8X10 at MPIX and NPL. I got 3 at NPL, and 2 at MPIX, spent about $10 with each. Once they arrive Ill report back on the quality, etc..

The ones I had done at WalMart were hideous! A basic home color inkjet with decent photo paper would have done much better.

Received NPL yesterday, and MPIX today.

Both were packaged similar/alike, both used Kodak Endura paper, both had great print quality, and both... were dark.

I specified for both orders, "No color correction".

I just reordered from MPIX the same two prints, with color correction. The images look good on my monitor, but they know how there machine does.

This was strictly for testing at any rate, so it's a discovery for me!

Am I happy with the lab(s)? Yes, *VERY* happy! It's not there fault the prints were a bit dark. The paper is REAL and the prints are AWESOME! These are keepers, Ill be dealing with them again over and over.

I did MPIX and NPL again, both with color correction. MPIX was the same price with or without... and more expensive than NPL without. However, NPL was about the same price when selecting ColCor. Ill update when they come in.

Anywho.. thats all for now..

Did you calibrate your display? Are you using something like a passport color checker?
