My vote - I feel - is for the top image in this case.

Looks a bit "overcooked" to me too. Somewhere between the two would be my vote.

Way too much work on the first edit and michale's image just looks fake. the eyes and skin are very unnatural.

less is more most of the time - unless you are a graphic artist and can do the work the guys in magazines get paid a wad of money for!

Overdone IMHO. Not sure if the original has a good skin tone to work with. I'd correct that first. I think your blurring technique is a bit heavy handed. I kinda got that sort of looks when I was reading Lee Varis book "Skin". I personally get the best results now with healing brush first on a at least 200% zoom level with a very small sized brush and then Imagenomic portraiture filter.

I want to play too. I though this woman was phenomenally beautiful already. With such a face, less is more. Adjusted color, cloned out the scar and a few blemishes, smoothed the chapped lips and cleaned up the eyebrows and hairline a tiny bit. Color adjusting was the bigger part, I think.

I'll join in too She is stunning. I'm not a fan of totally blurry looking skin though.

I liked the B&W too
