This was a total blast to do. Even my daughter enjoyed it.
Aw, very nice, Sis. You guys did a great job.

I should have waited a while to commend everyone who has posted.

my train of thought was to find striking pictures, and surprise surprise, the most striking ones (to me) were the ones that were "a little different".

In my pick, the lights were coming mostly from the side, maybe even a little from the back, and the highlights were very bright. Not to mention the pose.

Great thing about these is that it shows how great photographers have not been pinned under the rules (since at the time the rules did not exist) and they could do amazing stuff...

Anyway, that's just my personal crusade. The important thing about this challenge is, what I told my friend Kelly awhile ago over the phone: creative challenges make us go beyond our comfort zone and make us come up with different stuff that we would not normally do. And then it can sometimes be applied to the real world photography. The client wants something different, and when you have done it already for fun, it's easy to pull it out of your bag of tricks..

What I'm saying is, the challenges should be brought back to life. If with no other way, then just like this, "no whiners, no losers...". It benefits the photography, and the community, much more than the endless "that is a nice picture" comments. It makes us do stuff. This thread has proven it. The camel community can handle it...

I'm with ya, Johnny. This was really fun and made me get out and think about trying that "something different." My participation in challenges in the past has been minimal, but if we do more, I'm going to pledge to participate in as many as I can.

And Jackcat, nice job! Great lighting on that 2nd one. (and the first one has an amazing pout! LOL)
