Default "Hollywood" B&W Glamour Image

From last night. I used an old old Photogenic flash head with a Fresnel (pronounced Fren-ell) lens on it to get that 1940s Hollywood hard lighting look.

Benji
Actually, the n goes with the second syllable, as in fre-nell.

Anyway...very nice image.

Actually we are BOTH wrong! I just checked Wikipedia and they say it is pronounced frɛz.nəl or freɪ'nɛl!

Regardless of what old Wiki says, I will stick with what I learned in school!

LOL! I actually check merriam webster before posting and it said \frā-ˈnel\, and I've never heard it with a long a. Anyway, regardless of pronunciation, I still like the image.

Benji, don't get me wrong. You know I am a fan of your work and of you in general. This image is typical of what I have come to expect from you. Technically flawless with a dynamic and appealing pose. But the old hollywood portraits I have seen seemed to have much harsher light. Hey but I still really dig it.

I love this, beautiful classic feel.

When I was on stage crew we pronounced it "fər-nel" more or less.

Mojo,

Thanks.

I used the hardest light I own! Next time I try this I will back it away from her a couple more feet (and power it up) and see if I can get the light a little bit harder.
