This Board's Purpose (Please Read)
The purpose of this "Advanced Critique" version of Portraits is to allow the advanced amateur to professional, who wish to improve their portrait images, to get more in-depth critiquing and analyzing of their work, no matter the age of the subject. Portraits have been described as a photograph of a person, or group of people, that displays the expression, personality, and mood of the subject. Like other types of portraiture, the focus of the photograph is usually the person's face, although the entire body and the background or context may be included.
While anyone can post their Portraits here, the goal is to allow others to help describe what they see in the image that may be improved, by being more critical of the work. Some of the possible "improvements" may be easily spotted by some, or they may be small, tiny little bits centered around lighting, shadow, placement of the face or hands, expressions, etc.
This will require a bit of looking and some statements that may be a bit more critical, but that is what is needed to improve. Comments about the physical appearance of the model or their features, that could be considered unflattering, will be moderated and dealt with. Keep the comments about the image itself and how to improve it, please.
For those wishing a little less in-depth critique of their Portrait images, there is still a place for your work in PhotoCamels regular Portrait board here. Like all the other Genre boards on PhotoCamel, there will be some comments both positive and negative, but that is all apart of the forum nature.
This board has been discussed by the moderators for a few weeks to try and get more advanced critique of serious Portrait photography, so we hope that you enjoy...
