Hi Ed.

Last two posts (and most of your previous posts) are just fine. White on dark background on my computer. Don't know why an occassional post appears with black type unless you specifically select that color using the format option.

PS Try the dark theme. You might like it.

It can happen if you type a reply in a different program such as Microsoft Word and then copy and paste it into a response. Word processors apply text formatting tags and they can also copy across without realising.

Anyway Ed, I removed the color formatting. I hope that is OK, but if you want any of it back, let me know and I'll adjust it for you.

Regards,

Peter

Ed, it's about time that members of a forum put up suggestions like this. I wish all forums and critics were as considerate I recently ran upon a site that really explains to posters what they are getting into... it's The Online Photographer: Great Photographers on the Internet, which I posted for someone else here... I think it demonstrates what posters of images truly open themselves up for

Linda... I liked your entries... I REALLY liked the first one. It has a very emotional element...fragment in time quality.

I have bumped this thread for further reference. Ed

Now I have stuck this thread for a while. There has been certain discussions about critiquing on many of the boards and I think this will serve as good reference material and it saves me from writing excepts from this over and over again!

Thank You Ed for the excellent job on your article. It was most helpfull. As a hobbiest and serious about learning as much as we can to improve our passion this as a very good educational read. My beautiful wife and I take a lot of photographs. We are fortunate to have people that want some of our work and even have the local Welcome / Visitors Center for the area displaying some. Your article will help in a lot in things we never thought of or considered. Thank You again for your input...

Hi Ed,

Your original post "HOW TO CRITIQUE PHOTOGRAPHY and how to benefit from critiques" is excellent and we have so many things to learn from it. Thanks for the post

Thank you Ed for so thoroughly discussing something that has always annoyed me. I often feel like I need to apologize when giving a critique after several posts of " I Love It. It's so beautiful." I frequent several beginners groups for the purpose of helping them learn and have found that I am probably learning more than they are. While doing that, I enjoy it when they actually contact me and thank me for the critique.
Keep on shooting.
Rob
