Have been an admirer of Ed's work for several years now. In my opinion he has become one of the finest Fine Arts - flowers photographers living today. Take a look at the first dozen or so of his images and see if you agree.

Before I took a look at the link anchor, I thought you were talking about former Camelian Ed Shapiro, but his specialty was portraits.

On some of them, you can see remnants of where he missed burning the background out, so I suspect many of the ones with black backgrounds were not created in-camera.
