Taking photos when we travel is my interest and I want to improve on that craft. For that thing, are there other techniques to take a better photo?

Yes.

Pretend you're a visitor from a very different
culture and maybe even a time traveler from
100 or 200 yrs ago. Then go shoot your town
and neighborhood, family [as if you were not
one of them] etcetc. Get lotsa practice doing
that and apply what you learn to your travels.

IOW, mentally play the role of "Stranger in a
Strange Land" while in your own environment.

Lately I've been jonesing for a tilt-shift lens. AKA as PC (perspective control) lens.

OK, I have GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome). One of the users here has a name of nohoneythatsnotanewlens

I do think that such a lens would be useful for travel photography, not only for photographing famous buildings and monuments, but also for landscapes, but only with a tripod.

in any case, I tripod will improve your photography
