So where are you leaning? Price range, brand, etc? Not going to pick it apart, just curious about your adventure and thinking.

Honestly I'm leaning towards the Nikon 750. The price is right and I can use my existing lenses. Also, by buying the 750 I'll have room in my budget for two new lens, which is honestly at least equally important. Deciding which lens is currently the issue.

The best lens you can get that is the focal length you use.

That's the problem! I use all sorts. I like wide angle for my in-european-cities and nature shoots. I like primes for macros and portraits... And I do it all! Sigh...

Yeah, all a part of the gear acquisition syndrome (GAS)... what to get, when, why. Depending on what you have for each of those shooting situations, look at it and then decide "can I do better with a better lens? Or do I need something else to do better at it? Like lighting, props, post processing, camera stabilization, etc..."

Well in that case, I 100% need a portrait type lens because I do not jave one. Would you rather have a prime (like an 85mm) or something with range (24-70?)

For part of what you want, I'd say 85mm prime.... but replied in your Nikon board post.

I second Mr. Pickles' recommendation, especially considering that 70 mm is a bit too short for head and head-and-shoulder shots with a FF format, but 85 mm is a nice classical length for this purpose.

Southergeek - so far I really enjoy the D750. After using the D300 for 8 years I found myself on a small learning curve with the D750 just figuring out the small differences - particularly with some of the newer focusing options. I went refurbished to save a little cash. I have the holy trinity of lenses plus the 50 1.8D and no complaints.

I considered the Fuji XT-2 and going with a Nikon-Fuji adapter for my lenses but decided my desire to try FF would nag at me so went with the FF to satiate said desire.

I appreciate the response.. I have played with the Sony A7 everyone recommends but I havent loved it. It doesnt sit right in my hands, I keep going back to the 750 so I think that'll be what I do
