How was this photo taken?

I get notices of these inspirational photos and this one really me moved. It's a '10' in my book. I just can't figure out how the photographer pulled it off?

Here it is: https://www.photographytalk.com/insp...l-photo/411998

Any idea would this shot been multiple photos stacked together? Or if one shot, how is there not a ton of noise in it?

Re: How was this photo taken?

Id have to go with its a composite, multiple photos taken to make the one.

The author's username is "Astro Dave", so
it seems safe to figger he knows way much
about night work and avoiding noise. Maybe
he even uses a dedicated low noise camera
such as a Sony a7S-II ... or perhaps film ?

Some tricks for film, such as pre-flashing it,
that can approximate digital HDR.

There are a lot of Photoshop Actions available for astrophotographers and they really help get rid of light pollution, noise, and can really enhance the night sky. AstroDave is very, very good at what he does, but I'm sure he relies on some of those actions to improve his photos even more.
