Default Comet Panstarrs passing over tonight

Hi All,
I wonder if anyone caught the Comet Panstarrs during the past few nights, it's bright and has a tail.
I've read it will be at at its brightest in the Northern Hemisphere on the 12th & 13th March. Visibility was poor through cloud in the North West of England last night so I wasn't able to get a photo.
You can Google for its position for tonight and additional info will be available for your region.
Best of luck,
Woodlander

Good to hear from you, Toonamp.
The forecast for up in the NW is clear night sky, so with a bit of luck I should get a clear shot. Down by the river is my best location, but I don't know if I can stand the freezing wind blowing across the Mersey. I'm getting nesh in my old age.
I hope you have a clear sky and capture Panstarrs.

I went to a nearby dam where I would have a good view of the setting moon. There were a few other people there, but none of us saw anything. I took several exposures hoping to "accidentally" catch the comet; it worked.

Wow Mike, that's a brilliant photo. Well balanced colours and crystal clear.
Well done

Nice shot, especially considering that you were trying to capture an object you couldn't even see.

Nice shot Mike. Yeah it is only at magnitude 2 so being that close to the sun will not be visible naked eye. I got a shot as well, which I did not think I would get a chance to. The day here started out rainy and cloudy then broke up. I went to a cemetery to get mine.

Thanks for all the comments. As they say, even a blind squirrel finds an occasional nut.

Good job on that one, Joves.

Some very nice pics! With a barely veiwable object, I wasn't expecting the pics to be much. Great job on both pics.

Nice shot Joves, I waited until 7.45pm (nightfall 6.00pm) and didn't see a thing. There was a band of cloud that lay static just above the horizon and we all asumed it was there. Not to worry, there's another over in November.
