Default Stroboframe 300-115 Vertaflip PHD Camera Platform (Black)

My cheap tripod actually allows me to flip my camera from horizontal to vertical, but it changes the position of the lens about 3" to the side. It also isn't very accurate, the camera flips about 95s, not 90s.

The Stroboframe Vertaflip solves both problems.

I want to do some playing around with 3D too, but using my 7D, not a 3D point and shoot camera, so I can work in RAW. I bought a slide and took out the gear drive so I could slide the camera side to side quickly but it only worked with the camera mounted horizontally. With the Stroboframe Vertaflip mounted on the slide I can now shoot 3D either horizontally or vertically.

Here are the very first 3D test results. Note that PhotoCamel is reducing the size of the parallel-viewing 3d image but that makes it easier to see it in 3D. If you want to see the full sized image go to my Gallery.

With the cross eyed test I had to switch the images so I could see the face pop out instead of going in.

Since buying the refurbished 7D, I also bought a used Canon EF 70-200mm f2.8L IS USM from KEH, and new Optech Sling Strap. I think I have a buyer for the Canon 70-200 f4 non IS, USM. If that falls through, I'll try on this site. The 7D is awsome, and not as bad to learn as I thought. The 7D, and 50D are stable mates now. Although the 7D is getting all the attention now.

Hey Surfwooder enjoy your 7D. I have also purchased my first digital camera several years ago from KEH it was a Nikon D40 in mint condition, just as advertised perfect. Also using a D80 but I have my mind set on a D300 I will be watching the KEH site if something comes up.

Your right. What I posted is called a Parallel-viewing pair of images. This is the type of image pair you would use in a 3-D viewer.

Description of cross-eye and parallel-viewing.

Example of a stereoscope viewer for parallel-viewing prints.
