Finally decided to get Lightroom.. Always thought i didn't need it but hopefully in a few weeks this should help with cataloging images...

I hope you don't only use it as a catalogue. It is a very powerful image processor too.

Before setting up your files within Lightroom, I suggest your get a book like Scott Kelby's which tells you the best way to set it all up and how it all works.

Thank you... I'm still not sure what lightroom does for me that photoshop doesn't. This was the main reason i have stayed away.. Thanks again i will look for Kelby's book on lightroom... Im sure he will shead some light...

Finally started to use Lightroom 4(always treated earlier versions as a catalogue). been using Photoshop since 2.5.1 - what a program, not that I will drop CS6, but the degree of control I get and more to the point I am able to go back over the adjustments I have made

Matt, if you shoot in raw format it is fabulous for conversion...and all non destructive.
I still use CS6 to do some of the work on some of the images, but always use LR4.

Interesting the number of third party lenses mentioned here. I must have tunnel vision, I cannot bring myself to see beyond Canon "L" EF lenses. I need to follow the posts more closely, I think I may be spending more than I need to.
