Default Pelican hard case users...

Looking to nab a larger one for my gear and was wondering whether you have the dividers or the pluck and pull foam. I'm leaning towards the foam for customization but was wondering about the durability.

Any insight would be great, thanks!

I bought a Pelican case this past spring with the foam. It was very easy to mark and cut to fit my needs. I don't think you will be disappointed.

For cases that you store the gear in without working directly out of the case, or for lighter duty, the pick and pluck foam is fine, but I found it easier to work out of the cases using the dividers. There's no worry about breaking a few of the little foam cubes, and the dividers are easier to reconfigure when you're unhappy with your packing configuration.

The pick and pluck foam locks you into the initial setup and eventually tears and disintegrates. The padded dividers can be changed for different applications. The padded dividers are more expensive becauser they are a better solution.

I use Pelican cases only for transport because they're heavy and hard to work out of in the field.

Since the gear I carry changes too often, I prefer the dividers to the foam.
