I was at a point where I was dissatisfied with my photos and by chance saw a brochure about Brent Paull who lives nearby. You can view some of his many wildlife and people photos on his website at amwestphoto.com. I started going on some of his photo safaris and my photos and knowledge about photography has improved. Brent is passionate about photography and does a wonderful job of helping others learn and improve their skills.

I posted a PhotoCamel thread about Craft and Vision e-books and there were no comments. I should have posted the names of the photographers whose photos caused me to look at their writings at Craft & Vision. David duChemin who writes about finding inspiration in what we see and taking photos that pass on the feelings that caused us to take the photo in the first place. Michael Frye Techniques, workflow, and great landscapes - particularly of Yosemite.

I have to go with Ed, in 1953 I attended a photo symposium in Los Angeles and met the incomperable Peter Gowland. As a very impressionable 21 year old U.S. Navy Photographer I remained a fan all these years and sorry to see him go I believe it was last year maybe two. Peter wasn't simply a rudimentary photographer but a gentleman, inventor, lighting master, posing master and devoted family man...he and his lovely wife lived the Hollywood glamour life without all the negatives normally associated with it. Peters father was a noted British/American character actor so Peter was raised amongst celebrities and gave him access to them for his photography. Peter was known at that time as the "Pin-up" master photographer.

R.I.P. dear Peter.
