I believe that old 35mm PC Nikor only had shift, no tilt. OK for architectural stuff, not much help for landscapes and tabletop stuff.

Yes, you are correct. The old 35mm PC and the old 28mm PC had shift but no tilt.

The old 105mm short mount lens had both shift and tilt when mounted on the Nikon PB4 bellows.
