Default Topper the Barn Cat

This is Topper. He is a semi-feral barn cat that I have been trying to get a shot of for a while now. To date this is the best I have gotten. With out a doubt this is the closest he has allowed me to get to him. I just love is golden eyes and thought I would share.

aww! Isn't he a cutie pie!! That's a GREAT shot!

we've got a feral cat that hangs our near our house too... and just within the last year I've been able to get right next to him and pet him. He's even started rolling around on the ground by my feet while I pet him... I think he trusts me now!! Besides my 6 year old daughter and myself, nobody else is able to get within 25 feet of him...

I have tried many times to get a picture of him, but the camera scares him and he won't let me near him when I'm holding it.

The barn cats all seem to be afraid of the camera as well. The minute I raise it to my eye they scamper off. I would like to try and gain their trust and get some better shots of them, but the owner of the ranch prefers them wild. He says if they get to tame the coyotes make short work of them. I don't want to be the cause of their demise so I have been keeping my distance, but Toppers eyes just beg to be photographed in my opinion. Thanks for the kind comments.

That's a sweet looking cat. Love the color and DOF. I bet it could stand a bit more sharpening and a bit of contrast to make it pop more. nicely captured.

Juditha - Is this something like you imagined? Did I over do the edit?
