Strictly speaking, not my dogs (belonged to my Dad), but I took care of them - Zulu, Chocca and Hovis (no guesses as to which is which!). Zulu got cataracts and although blind and deaf used to fully enjoy life, using his sense of smell to navigate - gone one year now. 6 months ago I fed Chocca one evening and found him dead an hour later - he was only 8 but lived life to the full, permanently rushing around - so a heart attack was no real surprise. Hovis, although creaking a little (we suspect damage to his back from Chocca's overenthusiasm which is only now making itself apparent) still enjoys a somewhat shortened daily walk and lives on
