I really like number 2... nice side view. It is hard to get any light in the eyes when you are doing a show as you have no control where the horses are standing

Thank you. I agree, I think their eyes are designed against glare, so getting a sparkle has to happen with flash or sunset/rise or special conditions.

I really like two and three is good, although I wonder why she appears to have a death grip on the leadrope The first one, I'm thinking could be sharper and I would probably clone out the handler since you only see a bit of them.

Thank You Weebonilass, which part of #1 isn't sharp enough? and I did re-crop the handler out, also burned in some of the highlights, which helped the sharpness impression.

Just the overall appearance, this little grey doesn't pop out like the other two and being such a contrasting colour, she really should

No. 2 is my favorite of these nice shots.

Mark, your edit has given # 1 some added 'punch'.

You've got some nice things going on with these. Ears forward is a must. Looks to me like your flea-bitten is a bit over exposed. You titled this "Horse Show" and if these are meant to be show examples you've missed the mark. Unless these are detail shots, you've got nothing showing the horses conformation in standing nor the handlers ability to show. This must be a very relaxed competition as the exhibitors aren't in show dress.

Back up, get the horse at a three-quarter view full length so you can see both the front and rear hooves and their placement and hang on to the framing until the exhibitor moves facing you and not blocking the horse.

Steve
