That new Pentax peaked my interest as well Clint.
Of particular interest is the new 'Pixel Shift Resolution System' which reportedly dramatically improves image quality.
Not sure if the removal of the on board flash will be enthusiastically received.

i am not one for built in flash so i am OK with that but i like the idea of the anti aliasing to turn on and off. i almost bought the K-5 II but thought i would wait to see what else Pentax would offer this year. i took a hard look at the K 3 but was not convinced from all the reviews.

Pixel shift works great on the Olympus E-M5 MkII. A neat techie marvel actually. Where Olympus does it to make the image bigger and cut down on noise and such, the Pentax system seems like it will shift twice as far as Oly and just go for making the image crisper with less noise, less moire, and such. Should be a good deal for the Pentax folks. Pentax has always been a fine company with some good solid gear.

It will be interesting to hear what some of you folks think of this new Pentax once you have personally used it.

the enthusiast level K-S2 looks more promising than the new K3 II.

both are weathersealed but the K-S2 got an articulated lcd screen and wifi which is not in the KS ii

you have to buy the flucard for the K-3 ii but it is wifi enabled with the flucard , if i remember correctly the k-3ii is 24 MP compared to 20MP for K-s2 and a new Prime miii sensor (prime-mii for k-s2), max shutter speed 1/8000 for the k-3ii, K-S2 1/6000s, 27 focus points K-3ii to 11 focus points k-s2, 8.3 fps K-3ii to the 5.4 fps on the K-s2 and both have the SAFOX X AF sensor (better image tracking in low light) module but the K-3ii has the astro tracking if you are into that and i do not remember if the K-s2 has dual SD card slots but the K-3ii does and a slot for the Flucard. The K-s2 is a good buy but i feel the K-3ii is reporting as better image quality and features. I am only going by what i have read and seen from the internet and have not actually seen them in person but Things are looking up for the Pentax/Ricoh brand whatever model you buy and have begun to get the attention from around the photography world. Now if they could just improve their full frame line.

I wasn't able to locate a comparison between the K3-II and K-S2 but this one comparing it to the K3 is interesting.
