Default Panasonic GX8

I recently bought a GX8 and took it on a birthday trip down the River Danube. I'm really pleased with it and it's certainly a lot lighter than a 5D mkiii and backpack for sure.

Thanks wolfd - it's certainly a lot more easy on the back taking this little beauty with me.

Thanks very much - it's a great place for night time shots.

Still like the GX8? Lots of good things read about it, and a few that aren't....

I'm still pleased, yes. I think the weight aspect is a big deal for me - I just came back from a photo trip to London and took my Canon 5D and rucksack with me and it was really tiring. The Panasonic would have been easier on the shoulders that's for sure. What have you read that concerns you about it?

Yeah, lighter can be better, as long as the image quality meets the needs of the shooter, and my Olympus meets my needs. I don't have any concerns myself. I'm in the Olympus camp, so not venturing over. Do have Pany lenses however. The only negatives seem to be the usual ones that you read about when a new camera is out and a bit of bashing over little things that are mostly "preference".

Just good to get feedback and information on members "photo tools" so we can all read and understand more about them, and how they work.

There was a guy in London with us who was using the Olympus OMD e-m5 mkii and he was delighted with the results. He also had a Leica with him but the Oly got more use so that speaks volumes. He had the Panasonic Leica 25mm f1.4 and a couple of other nice lenses and says the 25mm is the sharpest lens he's got.

The Pana Leica 25 is supposed to be stellar. Everybody needs more money and gear
