Default Leica Releases a Full Frame Mirrorless

Leica is jumping in to mirrorless now, with the Leica SL. And you better bring your wallet.

It does have a 24mp full frame image sensor, which is enough for most everyone. Does have a nice 4.4 mp electronic viewfinder, which is a lot for an EVF. Does pop off 11 frames per second, which is nice. Has ISO range from 50 to 50,000 which is probably more impressive for the 50 than the 50,000 part. Handles 4K video if one cares and more probably care that it is built tough and has some nice weather sealing.

It is a Leica, and with that comes some styling cues. And I'd say you either lover the looks of this thing, or hate the looks of this thing. Not much in between.

If you care to see what your $7000 plus money will buy, for the body alone mind you, you can look at the link below. But just to make you pause more, the "kit lens" for this, if you want that, is a nice 24-90mm F2.8-4 for only $4950... I told you to bring the wallet.....

Interesting information Mr. P. Thanks for the link.
A bit too pricey for me though.

A bit too pricey? You think?

So, is it cool looking, or ugly to you?

It looks cool for sure, Mr. P. I like the clean lines.
The 4.4 mp EVF sounds very impressive.

All Leica gear seems really high, I guess this is no exception. Sounds like it performs at a level of a normal DSLR, at least based on specs.

Looks fine. Can't see how its looks would generate
any controversy. Pricewise, I'll wait for the Cosina-
Voightlander "wanabee" spin off.

I'm buying one immediately, as soon as I finish selling everything else I own.

Leica shot photos I've seen are always seam so much clearer, not just clearer but more pure. To me their lenses are worth the price of ownership of a Leica.
