Default Is anyone keeping track of this

Nevermind the multi-trillions of dollars being thrown around, is anyone catching some of the crap that is coming down?

Part of this new stiumlus package is a healthcare provision which will put everyones medical information into a database, under the guise of it will save money and create jobs. (not my statement, Obama's) At the same time this new office, under the White House, will be in charge of making sure that your Dr. is giving you the proper treatment etc. . .

Today, while Obama's orating in Florida, his new commerce secretary is telling us about another trillion dollar plan to run parallel with the proposed plan. Problem is he announced a plan with no details on how it was going to run, wall st. dumped again. (this is the guy that was the only person that could do this job)

And the housing marked debacle that started this whole mess remains untouched, until you hear Obama say that housing will be taken care of in a seperate plan, yet to be announced.

Crap, while I'm ranting: now they are going to take the census responsibility away from the commerce dept and stick it under control of the white house as well. . . wonder why you'd want to do that?

Since it's our new Messiah, no one is taking a very critical look at what's happening here. Pelosi and Reid are stacking this bill up with so many goodies it's sad. That "stimulus" bill is going to tank this country. Watch. That $800 billion is really going to be closer to $10 trillion next year.

Why?

It creates new departments and government offices but DOESN'T FUND THEM. That's ANOTHER appropriation bill.

The Messiah is getting away with so many things that should be scaring each and every one of us. He actually reminds me of the Clintons during their first year in office. Geez what a nightmare that was. Trying to change SO MUCH all at once and none of it getting very far. Unfortunately for us today, though, the Congress is MUCH more stacked in Obama's favor.

We're screwed. We just don't know it yet.

In answer to your last question,it's about getting us and keeping us under their thumb.Perhaps it's also about guarenteeing Dem. votes from the needy next time around.Part of the set-up.

Was it William Buckley who said he would rather be ruled by the first 2,000 people in the Manhatten phone book, then the 535 people in the Congress?
Was it Daniel Monyhan who said that a billion here, a billion there, and soon you're talking real money?
Was Ben Franklin who said that those who are prepared to give up a little freedom to gain a little security deserve neither..
Excuse the spelling, and the paraphrasing...but it is all coming back, like a bad dream...

Guess he could always of given the money to the auto industry who is still laying off (10k from chrysler) or to banks who gave their ceos multi million dollar bonuses. Or want to throw parties in vegas for their employees (and then spend $200k on an article about how the government is ruining their fun by not letting them party at taxpayer expense)
http://money.cnn.com/news/specials/storysupplement/ceopay/index.html

(Who now what to pay the money back, now that Obama wants to put a cap on bonuses to ceos of companies who recived the bailout)

http://money.cnn.com/2009/02/11/news/companies/congress_banks/index.htm?postversion=2009021111
One lawmaker suggested that the time is now right though for banks to pay back taxpayers.
"For anyone who contends that you do not need the money and that you did not ask for it, please find a way to return that money to the Treasury Department before you leave town," said Paul Kanjorski, D-Penn

The voters will have to learn the hard way. It's not like it wasn't warned. Ignorance is bliss. Sad that the others of us will have to pay for stupidity.

You might want to read up on that, Douglas. The 10K layoffs is to conform to the government's requirement to restructure. Ironic, isn't it?

I don't mind the government dictating those terms to companies looking for a handout. It's no different than banks requiring audits, certain money reserves, or interest rate minimums.

What I don't get is the constant hush-hush on exactly where money is going. Obama promised transparency during his administration. Where is it? Why can't we listen to the Congressional hearings on the stimulus bills? Why does the SecTreasury not have the plan that Obama said they had during the campaign? Now it's a "concept"?

Those who really watch money realize that this is going to tank. I love how the media isn't really giving those people much talk time. It's all pro-Obama stuff. Sad.

Hasn't that been the problem all along?

Only if you don't like Obama's policies. Otherwise there is absolutely NO media bias at all. It's a vast right-wing conspiracy.

I find that ironic with the Dems push for "Fair Access" to rid the US of conservative talk shows. When Air America couldn't succeed in the market, the liberals decided to legislate it instead.

Different standards, indeed.
