Well, I guess the site went down for a day or so. The host said the server for some reason was having trouble finding some sql thingie. I don't know. In any case, we're well backed up these days on multiple fronts in case anything catastrophic happens.

I went on their site and they said it was server 6 wouldn't boot up and they were checking it. That's why I like exact duplicate redundent servers. If one fails but the hard drives are still good, I just pop the drives out of the one and stick them in the other, boot up and it's back in service.

The sql thingie is the database. That's what keeps all of the records for the programs running, like the users on here and messages, etc. If the server can't talk to the sql server, then the applications won't work. They probably run MySQL like most hosting sites do. At least it didn't corrupt the database or we might have lost the Football debate.

Debate? I thought we were all in agreement that the Redskins will win.

Yes, MySQL is behind this forum. I know that much. I lost the PM exchange I was having with Ronnie over at AWH. It was a script or something that was fouled up. No idea of the details.

Glad that didn't happen. That type of withdrawal is particularly ugly.
