Even post-Al-Davis, the Raiders have only had two first-round picks turn into Pro Bowlers, and they traded them both this season (Mack and Cooper). There was a graphic from SportsCenter showing that the last fourteen (?) or so first-round picks from Oakland were complete busts outside of Mack and Cooper.

Cooper hadn’t been consistently productive for a while, but maybe he just needs a change of scenery. I kind of think the Cowboys got ripped off, but time will tell.

Outside of Aqib Talib, I think all of Jon Gruden’s first-round choices in Tampa Bay (I assume he had more influence than Bruce Allen considering the team traded assets for him to come replace Tony Dungy) were busts, and he only had one season with Talib before Gruden was canned by the Glazers.

Well the jury is still out on Gruden. Time will tell on that too. But soon he will be in Las Vegas so that move and new excitement will cover his inabilities for a few months...

I guess Jeff Fisher got a pass in LA because he was more or less explicitly brought in to facilitate the move from St. Louis, as he had successfully relocated the Oilers.

His tenure with the Rams was horrid though.

Gruden was brought in to effectively clean house it seems. Doesn't seem possible, but then, it does as it looks now.

I thought the Raiders had some good young building blocks who just needed some experience, but instead they replaced half the roster with veterans, Al Davis-style.

Looks like the other half of the roster is also on its way out the door.

The other half of the Raiders apparently DO want out of the Raider uniform. When they say "I need to get the f**k out of here", I'm not sure they mean Oakland (for Las Vegas next year).... So the owner says it is on him. Okay, fair, but I'm not sure Gruden doesn't get some blame for their miserable performances, or some of the players too. Keeping Mack wouldn't have helped near enough.

The Bills got rid of Nathan Peterman. Really? What a non-shock that was. Nathan who you say? He was a QB from Pitt, in last years (2017) draft with other QB's like Deshaun Watson, Mitchell Trubisky and Patrick Mahomes...

In the days leading up to the NFL Draft, there was a lot of debate about who the top quarterback was. The brilliant talent finder Jon Gruden had a comment on it...

Gruden said he would be the rookie quarterback best suited to start in the NFL from Day 1.

"Peterman is ready to walk in and be a contributor from day one. He just looks like a pro quarterback -- coming out of the huddle, running an offense with different formations, shifting, motioning, different patterns that other colleges don't run. Peterman will recognize route combinations and associate formations."

WELL DONE..... now he can sign him to the Raiders since he isn't a Bill anymore.

Oddity.... if Aaron Rodgers goes out starting his next game, and throws 1200 interceptions withOUT a TD pass in that streak, his lifetime QB rating would STILL be HIGHER than Nathan Peterman's.

Ouch.
