Come on, its the Murican way! Greed over all things! </sarc>

Yeah, it wasnt enough to make profit though advertising, now lets charge the user, *AND* hold uploaded pictures ransom!

Pathetic.

Yeah, a bit of truth on both sides of the aisle here. Not really holding stuff ransom because they changed the policy... but they didn't tell anyone the policy was changing either. So a lot of eye brow raising. I understand they don't want their servers used as a host so other sites don't have to store everything, but to just lock it down, under the cover of darkness, and charge a seeming fortune to unlock is a bit shady...

That was, for the most part, the service they provided! I think it has more to do with greed than with whatever service they are providing.

I moved from PB to Google Photo. I just abandoned my PB photos as I have copies on personal hard drives. I didn't want to spend the time removing them.
I actually like Google Photos better, seems easier to use, at least to me. We'll see how long this one stays free. I'd guess since Google is rather large, their photo storage is more of a customer service than PB.

Plenty free hosting sites out there. I post through Tapatalk so my photos are automatically hosted. Not sure where but since I'm unlikely ever to make a penny off my photos, I'm not that bothered.

I would have to say if you were NOT notified and they CAN'T prove you were...I would have to not only have a LS against them for the 399 plus any costs you "charged" them without letting them know for having your photos with them.
