The Camel limits JPG images to about 157k. I usually try to downsample the image myself to control the image quality. If I let the Camel do it, quality can get pretty poor. Some very detailed images just can be squeezed down to 150k without suffering, so those I will link.
The only downside about that is the image is there forever, once the 24 hour edit period is up. Sometimes, you may want to take them down. (I normally do the attached too. But when I fix something in an image, I sometimes wish I could take down the previous version)

Try the new gallery at Ten Million Flies (PhotoCamel sister site). The software there is new, and we might bring that over here if there's improvement.
