No...

It is important for photographers to be able to pick with whom they wish to work just as it is important for a couple to pick a photographer to work with.

Sending someone a "price-package" could be viewed as a type of "verbal contract".

The photog was more than happy to take their money... Until he found out they were gay. That was the problem.

I don't think you need to worry about getting sued.
As long as you are kind and courteous, you will be ok.

I never knew a non-jerk/gentleman who got sued.

Great! Now a new implication for me. I do not shoot Western discipline horses because I don't really like them; I don't shoot heavy shod walking horses because I do not approve of the way they are trained. I shoot English because I like it. So, should I decline an offer to shoot a TN Walking horse show or a AQHA show I make myself a target for a law suit, and if I don't do a good job at it I could be sued again.
Lovely

No... You just have to say no and that is it.

Don't say, "I don't shoot those kind of horses because God does not like them".

Then you won't get sued!

It's easy to say that you shouldn't give a reason, but what happens when the client asks for a reason?

Do like most women and say "I have a headache".

I can't recall anyone ever asking me for a reason.

If you are like most Wedding Photographers and booking shoots a year in advance, that might be a hard sell...

I think before I used that excuse, I would just say that I require full access to the open bar and that I can't guarantee that any of my shots won't be blurry, because, artistically, that is how I see them...

Funny.

Belching loudly during the interview might help.
