Speaking of which. There is another and bigger name that I find highly over-rated. Eric Clapton. Same thing, two of his most famous songs were borrowed from other artists. I Shot the Sheriff, and Cocaine. That's in the context of very limited work over 30, maybe even more, years. His limited work relative to his fame is what bugs me the most.

Yes, he is a premier guitar player, but as a songwriter....Fail again.

For those who do not "get" The Boss, then you are completely clueless as to what it is like growing up in America. Springsteen is the greatest pop songwriter this country has ever produced. His 1978 masterpiece, "Darkness on the Edge of Town" is easily one of the top 10 rock albums of all time. And his live shows are something everyone should experience at least once in their lives. I was lucky enough to catch him in concert back in the mid-80's. It is still the greatest concert I have ever been to. Next to Elvis Costello, I cannot think of another singer/songwriter who has influenced their generation more than Springsteen.

Now, worst song of all time? I used to think it was Rose Marie by Slim Whitman, until I heard the late Andy Kaufman's version. Because of Andy, this is now one of my favorite songs of all time.

Someone told me that there are Beatles fans and there are Rolling Stones fans. I'm curious if those here who don't like one are fans of the other. I'm not a Beatles fan but like a artists with large bodies of work, I like some of their songs.

I like Bohemian Rhapsody. Its a fitting title. There's a little influence of a wide variety of music genres in it. It was also Freddie Mercury's soulful swan song. Lots of deeper meanings.

Clapton, now there's a guitar player. Didn't like Cocaine but Layla is a great song all the way to the Coda at the end.

The Barney song might just well be the worst song after all. Somewhere I have a parody of it that ends in machine gun fire and a thud.

Taylor Swift might not be the greatest in-person performer but she is so dang cute.

More bad music...please? Its great reading what all the Camels think.

Steve

Which country you are speaking of, Rick. Hope it's not the US, for the US produced far far...and far better artists than the "boss". Don't sell your country's men & women short, mate. This is coming from a guy that likes Springsteen quite a bit.

Did you have your breakfast/lunch/dinner yet, Rick. That's stretching it just a tiny bit, if you ask me Again, I like the Boss.

Oh don't worry, Dan, I'm not judging them by their worst, I'm judging them by their EVERYTHING! CAN'T STAND the Beatles.

I like both. Though I find the Rolling Stones just a little over-rated (relative to their longevity and body of work). Just a little.

Steve, I'm so with ya on the Layla song. Both versions, the old and the slow new.
