Default WHOOOSH! 1/8000 second, f/7.1, ISO1250, at 10fps

Popped out to the airfield today to watch and take pics of the model airplane meeting. Unfortunately none of the bigger models flew while I was there.
Some are capable of reaching speeds of up to 400mph. It was quite a challenge capturing them as they flew by and roared overhead. The M5 Mkii performed flawlessly.

Typically, 1/8000 sec @ f/7.1 @ ISO1250 @ 120mm

Haven't been to a model airshow in over six years. Back then almost all were prop driven. How times have changed. Thanks for sharing.

Too true, Mike. I hardly expected it to capture this thing from about 75yds

as it streaked low over the tarmac at 200mph plus with burner turbulence left in its wake.

What do they burn for fuel? I notice the red and yellow fuel cans; here ( in the U.S. ) the color is supposed to indicate the fuel, red= gasoline, yellow= diesel, blue= kerosene [called, I believe, paraffin in UK}, but this convention is largely ignored.

Mike, I didn't ask what fuel they were using but one would expect the container colour convention to be observed.
