Although I have no Olympus interchangeable-lens cameras, it would be nice in a lens review thread for the images to have some EXIF data or at least some data on the lens-related settings - at least, the focal length, f-number, and whether the 1.4x extender is attached. If not tripod-mounted and the lens has some kind of image stabilization, the shutter speed and whether the image stabilization is engaged would also be helpful. A few pixel crops from parts of some of the images would also be helpful to judge sharpness, especially at the edges. Just saying...

I had already decided on buying this lens before the end of October.

I think you both will be impressed with the Oly 40-150 f/2.8.... one of the best in the lineup if you need that length. Handheld or on a tripod, both doable. I've used it with and without the tripod collar. Great lens.

Today I took the plunge and ordered the Oly 40-150 f/2.8 Pro with the MC14 1.4 teleconverter. The store did not have it in stock, I gave them a 10% deposit, I should have it by October 3rd.

Good one Mel; I can see a great Christmas ahead, eh? Lots of photo ops at that time of year, you'll have snow scenes and candlelight dinners, we downunder will have fun at the beach and barbies outdoors!

My wife used the lens to photograph some Junior Varsity Football between two perennial powers in our State. She used the Olympus OM-D EM-10 with the 40-150mm 2.8 and she was impressed. I am uploading a picture, not for the great subject matter but for the quality of the image. She is still learning the camera and lens but commented that she might need to go to a different mode (maybe portrait) since the standard setting gives colors that pop just a tad too much for her taste. Today, she has a boudoir session in her studio and plans to use the Olympus along with her Nikons.

Olympus JPGs can run a tick too color punchy for some people. I don't think that sample shot is too punchy, but I'm not the end all judge. Hope to see and hear the impression from the next shoot she did and how the little camera did in studio alongside the Nikons.

2 Pictures taken with the 40-150mm 2.8 Pro lens. Both at 150mm and with the close focusing, cropped a bit but sharp. I love the lens. Handheld with Olympus OM-D EM-10.

Pretty good for handheld shooting. Wonder if you knew the ant was there before taking the shot...
