Default Darn this obsession!!!!

For the last few months I really had been planning on taking a big trip next year. Couple weeks overseas. See a few countries, etc etc.... But nooooo....I cant do that. Instead, ive decided to buy better glass for my camera.

Guess you could call it the "Budget Dream Team" im shooting for. While I would prefer the Nikon equivilents, finances dictate otherwise. So, as money permits in 2009, im going to snag a Tokina 11-16 2.8, Tamron 17-50 2.8, and the 70-200 2.8. The Nikon versions would be approx $4k for this same range, but these 3 are just under $1700 (or the price of the 70-200vr alone).

So I say again, darn this obsession!

(oh and I know those are DX only lenses. But I dont plan on jumping from my D90 to an fx format for many many years)

Yeah. I really want to start taking shots with crisper lenses. I want all the mistakes to be mine and not the equipment anymore.

Oops, sorry. All the mistakes have been yours from the beginning.

Hey now!

Now to decide the purchase order.

Spring training is in february/march. Then The St Pete grand prix in April.....

Guess I go for the 70-200 first, then the 11-16. Then hold off on the 17-50. Maybe sell my sister the 18-105 vr and get the 18-70 back.

Anyone familiar with tristate camera? I see their ads in pop photo and their prices are like $50-100 less then adorama/b&h.

Stick to the reputable dealers.

good call on the 70-200 first. The 18-70 DX is a fine lens. No reason to go to a different DX lens IMO...except the 16-85, which is nice, but pricey.

one thing i do before i use any online store is to search for the name of the store plus the word scam

at this point, i only go with b&h and adorama though..

this is a good site to check those brooklyn camera storefront scams:
