Nope! This camera wasnt rushed out. Only the 2nd update in 5 months on a 6 month old model.

Rushed out or not, I think anyone who buys a brand new model of something as soon as it comes out (phone, car, etc) should have an idea that there may be issues.

What matters to me is that those issues (or at least some/many of them) are addressed at some point. That support is being shown for it.You just have to know what you're getting into with a brand new product/model in a product line. I fully expect a D7100 successor. While I am loathing the idea, I knew to expect that and am just enjoying my D7000 to do the best with it I can.

Changes in technology particularly for digital cameras, pc's smart phones are virtually assured.

Because things are the way they are, things will not stay the way they are.

My D90 didnt have 1 firmware update in the 2+ years its been out. Guess Im jaded on this model due to the other issues it was plagued with. (noteably, the back focus issues)

I have been looking at the D7000 as an upgrade to my D300, glad they have at least made firmware updates.

Also my Old D50 never had any updates
