toyo hood

Is there anybody can tell me the size of the screw for the Toyo cameras? I have a Toyo 45 D and I not able to find the correct one.

Thanks

If you mean the one that fits into the accessory shoe on the front standard it appears to be a 10-24. Possibly a 5x1 metric. A 10-24 I have laying around does start in it, but those two are very similar in size and I do not have a 5mm handy.

I tried a 5x1 metric screw but it didn't fit. It start, but not more half rotation. I'll try to get a 10-24.

thanks

The 10-24 goes in about two turns then becomes finger tight. That seems strange. Could the darn thing have a tapered thread?

You might try a 10-24 Nylon thumb screw as that would not damage the threads if it is not an exact match, and you could most likely force it.

May be it's conical?

OP, have you resolved this?

Not yet. I ordered some screw on ebay but they didn't arrived yet. Shipments to Italy from china are always slow.

But you found the right part? I was gonna check for you, if you hadn't. It is easier to identify the screw rather than the hole as there are gauges that you can see for the screw.

There has got to be an exploded parts list somewhere on the web.

I'm in trouble to find the right size of the screw, because I'm not into mechanic arguments.
Does anybody know a very simple dummy-proof way to find sizes of the screws and how to find one's way between metric and other measurement systems?

Ok, the best way is to buy a new hood for my Toyo, but I'm trying to have a selfmade one.
