Default Anyone doing hybrid 4x5 & digital?

Having given up on finding an Omega D2V that I can afford, within reasonable driving distance, I purchased a used Epson 2400 and the older 4x5 transparency adapter.

Last week I processed some negatives that had been sitting in the holders, and then scanned them on the Epson.

Results: up 125mp 219mb .dng files. That gives a 32x40 print at 300ppi with no resampling. Files can be downsized and saved for the web, or printed on the inkjet.

A sample uncropped, but obviously down sized, scan. Taken 10 years back with the Crown Graphic. I was a bit under the weather and actually thought I was holding the camera level.

I have some fairly recent (2008-2009) 4x5 negatives that I've been meaning to scan, but I don't think I've gotten around to it; I may have scanned one or two of the Fuji instant film shots or the Polaroids.

I'm with Tom. My old Epson 2450 has given 7 years of reliable service for 4x5 negatives printed up to the limit of an Epson 3800.

I starting using an EPSON V750 with my 4X5's and it's been working a treat.

I use a Sinar 4x5 with a Canon 20d for a back.
The results are great but you need a 100mm lens to offset the focal length

I've been doing that for about 3 years also. Nikon D700 on the back of a Busch Pressman D. Heavy beast but great images combining the old with the new. Fantastic macro.

I use full on analog, hybrid or LF digital. Whatever works for the job at hand.

I've been looking at this, mounting DSLR onto 4x5, maybe also improvised mount for RB67 soft focus lens on it.

Question, is it safe to assume that a 100mm lens, is a 100mm lens regardless of camera system it came from and will have a field of view in a cropped sensor DSLR as if it was a 150mm?

Has anyone tried this and noticed the difference?

You have options, I use everything from a 50mm RB lens to a 480mm ApoArtar, depending on what media I'm imaging on, at times it could be a roll film back, medium format digital back, a scanning back, 4x5, 8x10 or 16x20 film (in order of smallest to biggest) If you have enough coverage, that's all that matters.

While the angle of view may change, the DOF and perspective are still that of whatever focal length the lens is, irrespective of format. While I realize I have a few different digital options with the view camera, I have a hard time wrapping my head around wanting to mount a DSLR onto the back of one, it's just impractical as can be, at least to me.
