A good place to get gels and diffusion
It occured to me that working around film shoots on location and in the studio, I see loads of (Barely used or new scraps) of gels and sheets of diffusion headed for the trash. Certainly large enough for 6-8inch lights.
A long time ago, I was doing some volunteer work at a local PBS affiliate... the Studio Chief had to replace gels and diff on hot lights periodically, as there will be a faded spot in the middle after relatively short usage... that was at least ten years ago, and I cannot find a piece of "tough spun" anywhere now
Anyone looking for smaller pieces of gel etc. , might want to contact the local tv stations or lighting company's... can't hurt to ask, and it's amazing what people will swap for a good photo of them at work...
