Both look unnatural, Biff. But that is because of the long exposures. Of the two, I much prefer the composition in your second shot. Both look unbelievably blue - but perhaps it was a very blue day.

Once photography enters your bloodstream, it is like a disease.

Software: Too numerous to list but my most used utility is ShiftN for perspective correction

Gear: Canon G12, no tripod, no lenses, no flash, no remote, no cases or bags!

They are unnatural Martin, the goal with a long exposure is not to produce the most natural image possible but to create a different look from the ordinary... at least that is where I was going. The very same composition shot with the intent to produce the most natural image would not be to interesting in my opinion.

I like the 2nd one better, but the long exposure doesn't work on cargo ships

Hi Biff, Not sure the coloured version of #2 works here but if you were to lose the ship and convert to BW it should look pretty good esp with the milky sea, What was your exif ?

After you finish your pp and save to where ever there is a box to check that saves the exif my bet is you are stripping it and not saving it.

Na, I up my pics Imgur and resize them for camel.... that is where the exif data leaves the building.
