Default Outback Cartography

If it can't be shot from the car then it's too far away - I suppose you could call it 'Cartography'!

Why Shakespeare's Creek, we may never know - I doubt the old bard ever cracked a bottle of champas here.
1.
Abandon all hope those who would venture here.
2.
Peak hour in the Outback ...
3.
Santa Garuda livestock, SW QLD - They also serve who only stand and stare
4.
At the end of the day
5.
There's a silly game that's played on such Outback roads as the title suggests.
The technique is that when you see a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction that is not slowing down
or actually accelerating, you have two choices - pull over and wait for the bogan to pass, or do likewise ... there's quite a lot of bogan in me!
6.
This was mild compared to the dust cloud I drove through stirred up by a 30 metre long road train. Note the bone shaking corrugations caused by the elements.
7.
XZ-2 on the 60 mile road to the Dinosaur tracks
8.
Way Outback I stopped at this isolated roadside spot to camp the night.
9.
XZ2 Images (exif intact)

Jim, Brent, Wolf - Thanks, Yes Jim, I did camp roadside there in the last, no lions or tigers, but did get attacked by an 18ft crocodile. I rammed my Manfrotto monopod between its wide open jaws just as it was about to snap shut on me. When I thought the situation was under control a deadly Taipang raised it's ugly head but I struck first, ripped off its head with my jungle knife - I needed a new belt anyway.
The gutted croc made a monsoon proof bivouac bag that keeps dingoes at bay and I wear its teeth as a necklace to keep bad spirits away, mate.
