Default Hello from Ohio

Just thought I would say HI to everyone .
Spent some time looking around and definitly like what I see

Thanks Don for pointing this place out

Most of my photography has been around nature and scenics. But since going digital I have begun doing glamour stuff.

All the great images on here and most of mine that are even close are still on negatives in the closet.

I look forward to seeing more of everyones work and one day figuring out how to post on here

Stan

Welcome Stan. A lot of my early work is on 120 negative film stored away. I started to get it scanned and found out it was too expensive to have it done and to time consuming to do it myself. But the closet is the best place for film and prints... after all, there are a lot of closets with film and prints in them that are pushing 75 or more years old and they still look like the day they took them. I think it's the archival shoeboxes they made back then that kept them so well.

Welcome to the Camel.

Mike

Welcome Stan. It's a laid back place. Enjoy.

If you can't figure out how to post pics, we don't want ya

Seriously, pretty easy. use the Icons. Fifth from the left is the Image icon. Use it. Put your hosted image link inbetween the tags. The next over is the HTML one. You can even use the Additional Options below the text box to find the "direct upload" option (125kb limit). Lot sof options.

Geeez, if Don could figure it out, you can for sure

I tried to find somewhere on here that explained these kind of rules but I am still looking

Quit looking. There aren't any. Most post images that are 700 pixels wide. Seems to fit most screens, without having to scroll.

Using "Additional Options", and direct uploading here, the limit is 125kb, not pixel size. If you have a place to put them (like a FREE PhotoBucket account), then there is no size or file size limit, but if you post one 1024 pixels wide, people will have to scroll and won't want to.

Some don't like PhotoBucket, and there is a thread on here somewhere about that.

That's one of the things that makes this such a good place... only one rule and you already know it... Starts with 'Do unto others...'
People seem to like at least 500 pixels on the long edge, 700 isn't unusual. We just discussed posting a shot with a critique as a courtesy... but it's just that, a courtesy, not a requirement.

I just noticed that for 6$ a year you can get 50MB of images hosted on Photoshare... 30 day free trial too.

And don't be acting like you're not so bright... some of us already know you.

Take care, see you around.

Chip
