Just downloaded a a trial version of C1, and within seconds of opening the first raw file I was was very impressed with its color rendition. Almost like Canon's DPP (need more time to verify that).

Regardless, how about we start discussing/exchanging knowledge about this (what appear to be) a fine piece of software.

First question Did a basic edit to a photo and I'm done...then what? How to convert/export that photo to a jpeg format.

FWIW, I started a "session" not the catalog thing (I loathe catalogs).

Cheers

I have never used C1, but I know a lot of people do like it.

Are the results much better than what you'd be able to get from LR or ACR?

Cheers, Rob.

I can't tell for certain as I only "played" with one raw file. But the first result blew me away compared to what I would've gotten with LR.

I'm mainly referring to color accuracy here (paramount to me. I LOVE color).

Yea, a lot of people like C1 for that reason.

I just always assumed that if you processed a raw file in C1 or LR or PS ACR the results would be the same, or pretty close. Maybe not?

Definitely not.

There are continents and oceans between software (color-rendition wise). Case in point: Canon's DPP and anything Adobe.

Been using it for years now and love it. Of the big three, Capture One, Lightroom and Aperture, it almost always ranked highest in the reviews. The cost however made many hesitant since it was also the most expensive.

Disclaimer: I've only tested C1 with one photo. Yes uno photo. So I could be off.

However, the first photo looks very promising (color-wise).

QQ (Quick Question).

How to fix the upper and left panels. Looked at Preferences but nothing is there.

Edit: Managed to fix the left panel, now need the top one to stay put.
