My, oh, my. Now that I've spent ~ a week with C1, I'm still very impressed with the s/w.

Few things stand out:
- Color accuracy: It's miles more accurate than LR. Not even close. No comparison, really.
- Control: The amount of control one has over his/her photos is just amazing.
- This has been mentioned before: One has the option of not using a catalog. Big deal for some people. To be fair, their "sessions" is not as straightforward as one likes it to be.

What's also surprising is the ease of transitioning from LR to C1, and I'm not a heavy LR user (due to color inaccuracy). Didn't expect that at all. When you first look at the program you will get very intimidated, and you will say What The L!!! (in Australian accent ). But after watching some videos you start to get the hang of it relatively quickly. Phase One has videos on their site, plus more on Youtube.

What I would suggest if you find yourself bored or have spare time is to first watch some videos about the basics (good ones at their site). When you think you understood the ABCs, download the free trial and play with. You will still get intimidated/confused/ angry at first, but have patience. You will "get it" kind of quickly. Credit here goes to LR, because if you know LR you just need to translate what you know to the new program.

On a not so positive side, it costs about twice as LR. Also, it has some minor things that makes you want to say grrrrr. For example, if you use a tool like an an eye dropper (e.g WB) you have to go up and choose the arrow. Why? Why can't we just put the tool back, much more intuitive that way. Also, I've yet to make the top panel fixed, grrrr

Of course, I did long time ago.

The more you use it the more you become amazed by it.

One of the best programs around. Besides color you will find that the images tend to be sharper than LR. I'm assuming you found out how to produce jpegs? If you wnat to get crazy learn to use the gradient tool on layers, it can really enhance images.

The thing that impressed me the most is shadow recovery. Recovering those areas look absolutely natural.

Glad to hear you bought and use the full version. Lightroom is a good product and does have some advantages as far as compatibility with Photoshop, Capture One is to my way of thinking the best of it's kind.
